What People Are Saying

I attended a virtual yoga and mindfulness class Benita Mayo facilitated for a group of Black Transmen. When I signed into the meeting, I saw Benita’s lovely smiling face and her name and pronouns listed. I could tell then that this was going to be an affirming experience. She began the class and encouraged all participants to be gentle with their body and only do what feels right. This was important for me to hear, as I am a bigger guy and have some limitations to certain movements and stretches. At the end of the session I felt a complete sense of tranquility; the heaviness and stress that I held in my body had slipped away. I went on to have peaceful and affirming day, thanks to Benita’s awesome yoga class!

My wife had discovered Yoga and Mindfulness long before I was interested in doing so myself, and she often recommended I partake. As Director of a Men's Mentorship Program, I met Yoga and Mindfulness instructor Benita, which helped redefine my mental health and physical health.

As Director, I knew if it could change my life, it could also benefit my program participants. We are now incorporating her classes into our program. Everything about her guidance is life-changing. To this day, participants are requesting more of her sessions as it has helped to release unwanted stress, especially during such a challenging year with isolation due to the pandemic.

The energy Benita exudes through calmness in her voice, to the structure of classes and openness to meet you right where you are is unmatched. I highly recommend that you try it for yourself to witness the many benefits of her Yoga and Mindfulness classes.

"A large part of our organization's mission is to help improve the health and well being of our clients, which has been very challenging to do during the pandemic. We started to see the negative impact that the inability to physically connect was having on many of our people. Then we offered our group Benita's virtual group yoga and mindfulness sessions, and they were exactly what we all needed to recenter ourselves in mind, body and spirit."
